Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine

Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first shogun of Japan, relocated the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine from Yuigahama beach to its current location, as the ancestral shrine of the Kamakura Shogunate. Since then, it became the focal point of Kamakura’s town planning in its present form.

Kamakurabori Kaikan Cafe & Shop Guri

The cafe uses famous Kamakurabori lacquerware as their tableware which guests can experience while enjoying Japanese delicacies from the region. A Museum is also located on the 3rd floor of the same building.

This is a rickshaw affiliated with Gen Hotel. We will show you around the famous tourist spots in Kamakura.

Houkokuji Temple

Hokoku-ji Temple is a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Kamakura. It was listed as a three-star spot in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. About 2,000 Moso bamboos make up the beautiful and dignified bamboo grove of the temple. How about taking a stroll to experience Japanese ‘serenity’ and ‘coolness’ to your heart’s content?

Breakfast COBAKABA

You can enjoy an elegant breakfast meal with five-grain rice. Kamakura Farmer’s Market, also known as Lembai, (Agricultural Cooperative Rensou-Shop) is located right next to the restaurant, you can be sure to find local vegetables there.

Hello Cycling

How about cycling along the seaside with a shared bike? You can find one and return it back to any Hello Cycling location you want.


Kencho-ji Temple is one of Japan’s main cultural heritage sites, and its garden is an absolute must-see. 


This delicious and healthy organic cafe serves vegan dishes for lunch.


You can experience zazen (traditional practice of seated meditation) and copying sutras. From 4:30 to 5:30p.m, on Fridays and Saturdays. No reservation required.
